Duck Board

From £450

If your shower tray has sloping sides or is not straight edged we recommend using duck board instead of a grid which we can supply, along with a tray if required in teak.

We can supply duckboard with adjustable feet to enable correct levelling, otherwise the rubbers we use underneath the duckboard for protection add a further 5mm to the depth.  We like to know where the waste of your shower is when we manufacture to ensure the feet are placed so that they do not interfere with the waste.

With over 40 years’ experience in design and manufacture we really understand timber and know that you will have no problems when you use teak as you may with other woods, and our designs are well proven watertight over time.

The lacquer we finish our products with has incredible adhesion and can be used in a variety of situations, you can be sure that there will be no lifting of the lacquer in any wet room environment in the future.   We have used the same lacquer for many, many years on our teak tiles which are used in steam rooms and saunas proving the lacquers stability in hot, wet environments.

With regards to the cleaning and upkeep of our products it’s simple: we suggest a household cleaner similar to ‘Mr Muscle’ the same that you would use on enamel – no extra special care is needed but we do not recommend using bleach or an abrasive of any kind.

All our products can be made bespoke to fit your project. Please just ask if you would like a one to be made to a different size or specification as we are very happy discuss options with you.

Duck board can be made in a bespoke size or shape to fit your project.

The cost for duck board depends on the dimensions, timber and labour involved for your project.

As you can see from the photos the duckboard looks fabulous! And it feels so lovely to stand on! I found the service from William Garvey to be exceptional from start to finish and their communications along the way very helpful indeed. I would not hesitate to use them again.

With regards to the care and cleaning of our products it’s simple: we suggest a non scouring household cleaner similar to that which you would use on the surface of an enamel bath.  No extra special care is needed but we do not recommend using bleach on the surfaces.

In areas of hard water we do recommend using a water softening system to avoid calcium build-up.  Perhaps once a year give them a good polish with a product similar to OSMO oil which can be found in most hardware outlets, this will rejuvenate them in the future.
