We have been designing and making furniture here for 40+ years. We  are a company of 32, whose aim is to bring excellence to the complete process of  furniture/ joinery projects. In house we plan, draw, make, polish, deliver and install projects that range from complete interiors to single pieces of furniture. We have a great depth of technical knowledge, which is needed to support our  varied and interesting workload.  We really do originate a lot of work. Think of us as a company that makes prototypes to the standard of a finished article. We work in the UK and all over the world, often on prestigious projects for well known companies and individuals.

This is an opportunity created by the departure of the long serving  Business Development Manager  at William Garvey. His approach has been to act as a door opener by identifying and then presenting to architects and interior designers and to maintain the relationships so formed. We are looking  for a candidate of broad experience in sales and marketing to build on this work by extending into social and print  media campaigns. This is an opportunity to create a complete marketing effort and implement it.  At the start the marketing department will consist of one person, you, the applicant. The department will increase in size as momentum gathers and the workload increases.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the  team comprising senior directors and project managers that aims to provide a steady stream of bespoke furniture projects as  well as exploiting several niche areas in which we have particular expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation & co-ordination of company marketing policies
  • Maintenance of  editorial control of all the company’s marketing, public relations, social media and sales output.
  • The calibration and variation of output over all the platforms and channels in which we work in response to an active programme of analytics.
  • Design, layout and style of social and print media output.
  • Client facing work including presentations, sales and CPD

Qualifications and Skill

  • 3+ years experience in marketing, sales or PR
  • Experience in a corporate management role
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Good technical understanding of the operation of social media and the skill to operate it and maximise its effect.
  • Flexible, opportunistic, entrepreneurial
  • Knowledge and/or experience of furniture making, design, and the history of furniture design would be  an advantage.
