The William Garvey teak tiles, or panels are made in a special process which William Garvey have successfully researched and developed over many years. The teak veneer is carefully bonded onto a specialist core of Formalux PVC, a 100% waterproof substrate backing with an overall thickness of 9mm.
They are hardwearing and as easy to clean as ceramic tiles but easier to install. They do not require grout, and are designed to interlock with tongue and grooved edges. The tiles are both water and rot proof and are dimensionally inert. They can be cut to size using simple woodworking tools, or machine cut.
Ideally, the tiles are then applied to a flat even wall surface, such as plaster board, render or WBP plywood, using a water proof adhesive such as silicon.
The tiles can be made to standard sizes, or custom bespoke size up to 2500mm x 250mm and can be used both horizontally or vertically depending on how you would like the veneer to run. We are very happy to make them in bespoke sizes to fit your project.

..we also appreciate the team involved from initial request to the technical drawings to the execution. William Garvey respects the individual designs that we submit whilst at the same time perfecting them.
For anyone looking for a timeless piece of furniture that will outlive generations I can recommend William Garvey's craftsmanship.
All William Garvey teak work is finished with a specially formulated marine polish. It has exceptional adhesion to the timber, forming a tough layer which will not absorb stains and which is easy to clean using ordinary non-abrasive bathroom and kitchen cleaners. Products containing bleach should be avoided.
In areas of hard water we do recommend using a water softening system to avoid calcium build-up. Perhaps once a year give them a good polish with a product similar to OSMO oil which can be found in most hardware outlets, this will rejuvenate them in the future.
With over 40 years’ experience in design and manufacture we really understand timber and know that you will have no problems when you use teak as you may with other woods, and our designs are well proven watertight over time.
