Mews house

Contemporary cabinetry, bespoke furniture, custom joinery and more for this architect-designed home in Notting Hill
Bespoke cabinetry throughout mews house – Notting Hill

Tucked away in the heart of Notting Hill, this discreet mews house is an architecturally ambitious home. Designed by Gumuchdjian Architects, the project combined two properties into a single modernist residence defined by space, light and a sense of serenity.

At its centre, a sinuous staircase sweeps through all six floors. Constructed from patinated steel, with steps in timber and a handrail clad in leather by Bill Amberg Studio, it anchors the house both visually and structurally.

Contemporary bespoke cabinetry

Working closely with the team at Gumuchdjian, our work extended throughout the entire property. Floor to ceiling contemporary cabinetry and wall panels with crisp, clean lines conceal ample storage, sliding pocket doors, shelving and much more in the bedrooms, dressing rooms, bathrooms, circulatory and living spaces of the home. Every element was designed, tested and installed by our team.

Seamless details

In the master suite, we crafted a stained oak and felt-upholstered headboard with integrated louvres and cantilevered bedside tables. The headboard accommodates lighting, charging points and storage with a concealed mechanism for the louvres, manufactured in-house for ease and accuracy. We designed and made window shutters that fold seamlessly into the clean-lined cabinetry, providing light control and privacy for all the windows in the master suite. Bespoke cabinetry provides shelving and storage in the suite whilst cleverly concealing the air conditioning vents.

Timber-lined dressing room furniture with white lacquer handless exteriors, were fitted in the two walk-in wardrobes to either side of the master bedroom. In the two ensuite bathrooms, we crafted bespoke vanity units with storage, recessed lighting and integrated sinks, and fitted shelving and cupboards within the bathroom recesses.

Crafting spaces

Our team made and installed sliding pocket doors with custom bronze handles to doors on the ground and first floor. In the main living room, we crafted an audio-visual cabinet to fit the full length of the wall with library shelving, recessed lighting and fabric-clad panels to conceal speakers and equipment.

Each piece was prototyped, assembled, and tested in our workshop before installation, ensuring accuracy and performance once on site.

“We were amazed at the level of precision and craftsmanship that you gave our project. We had high expectations, but I couldn’t believe the level of care taken. Thank you, we couldn’t be happier.” Private Client
