At the heart of our waterproof wooden furniture collection is the wooden bath. Quietly luxurious and extraordinarily comfortable, these pieces bring warmth and a sense of wellbeing as you soak in a work of art. The natural properties of timber help the water retain its temperature, allowing for longer, more restful soaks.

A traditional Ofuro bath is a deep-sided wooden tub found throughout Japan which is heated from underneath by a wood burning stove. After much research and development, Bill Garvey reinvented the wooden bath and created the Geo Deep; a high-sided bath better suited for the European bathroom. These soaking baths take up less space than a conventional bath and have integrated benches and access stools. Our Geo baths are a shallower waterproof wooden version of a European bath with adjustable backrests allowing for a reclined style of bathing.

Traditionally, wooden baths are crafted from solid teak, however all our baths are made using a constructional veneer bonded to a custom-made, waterproof plywood. This new technology allows a wider variety of timber veneers and guarantees there is no movement of the wood in any direction, ensuring they remain watertight. All our bathtubs are available as single and double versions as seen below. Each William Garvey wooden bath is made to order and almost any degree of customisation can be accommodated.
